Communities

Any organisation is a community. Any neighbourhood, any business, any church congregation, any school, any local authority.
We work closely with the requirements of the community. We work with and demonstrate how videoconferencing can support its goals, and, if required, how we can push the boundaries of community contact using videoconferencing and its attendant ICT technologies.
Many of our community contacts have been firsts. And we are proud of
such things as:

  • making New Lanark Mill the central site of UN International Day of Co-operatives celebrations that brought co-operators from all over the world together and generating projects,
  • providing Scottish Co-op with an advanced communications strategy for catering with yearly and twice-yearly meetings with members.
  • providing Scotwest Credit Union with a means of streaming their AGM onto the Internet for members to watch and interact with.
  • providing community web portals, incorporating text and multimedia for organisations with different layers of client groups. Clients including: Equal Exchange, Run and Become, MDC Eco Friendly Cleaning Company, Amazonian Alliance.
  • linking first world and third world countries for communication and understanding. Clients included NIDOS, Volunteer Development Scotland, Scottish Co-op.
  • linking family groups for informal contacts across the world,
  • helping a Fife company demonstrate complex machinery in Texas without having to transport it there by aeroplane,
  • linking Lord Brown, BP chief executive to his senior staff at a hotel in Turnberry for a conversation without him having to attend the weekend
  • providing a workable cross-city solution for educational videoconferencing in Glasgow schools
  • linking Co-operators around the world on United Nations International Day of Co-operatives

We continue to thrive on challenges of community communications. Our method has testing and proof of concept built-in, and contacts go ahead when all problems have been solved.
